Mercedes-Benz has recently revealed the remarkable Vision One-Eleven concept car, which bears striking similarity to the legendary C111 prototypes.
This visionary creation embraces futuristic elements and cutting-edge technology while evoking the spirit of the iconic mid-engine sports cars that pushed boundaries in the 1960s and 70s for the firm.
The design of the Vision One-Eleven captivates with its sleek and dynamic “One-Bow” aesthetic, seamlessly blending muscular contours and elegant curves. The front end, reminiscent of the C111’s iconic appearance, features an innovative 3D pixelated external display that replaces the traditional grille and headlights.
This interactive display can adapt to driver input, convey signals, or relay messages to other drivers on the road, adding a unique and engaging dimension to the driving experience.
From the side, the car showcases the company’s signature One-Bow design language in its most athletic form. The gracefully flowing lines and flared wings integrate seamlessly with the large-diameter wheels, emphasizing both sportiness and aerodynamic refinement.
Meanwhile, the iconic gullwing doors evoke a sense of exclusivity and provide convenient access to the low slung interior. At the rear, the Vision One-Eleven maintains a short and tapered profile, emphasizing its dynamic pedigree. The striking rear diffuser, integrated into the bodywork, enhances downforce and stability at high speeds. The futuristic allure is further enhanced by integrated rear lighting fixtures.
Underneath its captivating exterior, the Vision One-Eleven boasts a cutting-edge powertrain. Developed in collaboration with YASA, the car features four high-performance axial-flux motors, with one motor per wheel.
These motors offer exceptional torque density and cooling performance while reducing weight and space requirements. Powering them is a novel liquid-cooled cylindrical cell battery concept derived from Mercedes-AMG’s expertise in Formula 1 hybrid systems. This battery design provides high energy density, faster charging capabilities, and improved thermal stability.
Inside the Vision One-Eleven, Mercedes-Benz presents a groundbreaking interior concept that seamlessly blends a driving cockpit with a luxurious lounge. This fusion redefines the sports car experience and transcends the boundaries between self-driven excitement and relaxing comfort. In race mode, the minimalist interior focuses on the driver, featuring an upright backrest and a compact, driver-oriented touchscreen.
In lounge mode, the seats merge with the sculpted interior, creating a spacious and inviting atmosphere.
Its progressive colour scheme and striking material combinations exude future luxury. The white honeycomb fabric, made from 100% recycled polyester, complements bright orange leather accents, seamlessly transitioning from interior to luggage compartment. Polished aluminium elements enhance the tech-inspired aesthetic. This meticulous interior design showcases Mercedes-Benz’s commitment to innovation and craftsmanship, redefining automotive luxury.
