Ford hasn’t yet revealed any specs of its all-new V8 Mustang GT3 car but if their latest video of it strutting its stuff around the final corner in Sebring is anything to go by, it will easily provide aural satisfaction for fans and viewers who watch it in action.
Close your eyes, and you may be tricked into thinking that the screen in front of you is displaying a sole NASCAR with its V8 grumbling cross-plane crank tune. Open your eyes, and you will see the latest iteration of Ford’s Mustang donned in some muscular bodywork tackling something that isn’t an oval. That is because, Ford Performance took the V8 Mustang GT3 car has officially completed its first test, which had the beefy pony lap the famous Sebring International Raceway in the state of Florida a few days ago.

The video shows the black blur darting across the final corner of the circuit with the suspension bottoming out along the tricky section of track before the driver pins the throttle and aims the front for the start/finish line. It is a soundtrack we can listen to all day and although the model hasn’t debuted yet and information on its inner workings is scarce, it is highly likely Multimatic and Ford have gotten the 5,0-litre V8 to give a little bit more oomph.
From what we can see, however, the V8 Mustang GT3 wears a brutally wide bodykit and a massive pillar-mounted rear wing. Everything seems more aggressive. The front splitter, rear diffuser, front fender air vents. It all adds to a menacing-looking racecar. The naked body, devoid of a distracting livery and stickers, is composed of a significant amount of carbon fibre as would be expected for a competition car of this calibre.

Although it will not compete in this season, Ford Performance are putting it through a stringent testing regimen which will see a competition-ready V8 Mustang GT3 take to track for the 2024 racing season. In addition to this, the pony will also be converted as a GT4 racer as well as an Australian Supercars Series derivative. Remember, Ford is going racing!
